it is somethong calm and peaceful about it living with a few thousand people under a dome on an asteroid living a simple life.

Though it’s classified as a dwarf planet, Ceres it’s still an asteroid technically so that would be the first place we would colonize on an asteroid

What about getting an asteroid into earth’s orbit, sending just a few mining and manufacuring units on it, then, from the material the asteroid provided manufacure more components, and it could be a very good space station/ orbital colony, even a self sustaining one for that matter, and by hiding under the asteroid u could solve the problem of radiation.
The only problem with colonising asteroids is that those colonies would quickly turn into criminal havens and Commander Shepherd wouldn’t have the time to sort all of them out…
The key to living on asteroids is to hollow them out and build rotating habitats\ spacesteads inside them. The gravity could then be tailored to suit the needs and desires of the occupants. In fact, pretty much everything could be customized! Just add some way for sunlight to get in while keeping the protection from radiation, and we’d be well away!

I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.

What an opportunity to fuck up another planet
Another place to destroy by the human race
I think our future of the race is air bubbles advanced
Cool idea
I would rather die than live under a dome.
You are doing it right now

what if the asteroid we live on became a falling star instead and crashes to other planets?
If they promise me to open a McDonalds there, I am in!

Pretty, pretty, pretty good
