BMW Middle East presentó su prototipo de todoterreno eléctrico denominado ‘Taxi de las Dunas’, en el que se lo puede observar mientras recorre las calles y las montañas de arena de Abu Dabi (Emiratos Árabes Unidos).
El nuevo SUV es capaz de producir unos 536 HP de potencia, con 1.000 Nm de torque, y cuenta con un recorrido de suspensión de 400 mm. Es capaz de escalar una duna con una pendiente de 130°. En su parte frontal, el vehículo cuenta con rejillas de doble riñón, características de BMW, y luces delgadas de LED.
En cuanto a su chasis, este BMW tiene una estructura respetuosa con el medio ambiente, ya que está fabricado con polímero reforzado con fibra natural, que utiliza fibras vegetales.
Según detalló BMW Middle East en un comunicado, el video es para “fines de entretenimiento”, y agregó que pretenden “demostrar lo que podría ser posible cuando se desafían las percepciones sobre lo que puede significar el puro placer de conducir con los coches [modelo] M en su camino hacia la electrificación”.
Por último, expresaron que con este vehículo trabajaron en colaboración con Spark Racing Technology, y utilizaron “su auto base para la filmación del video”. “BMW Group Desingworks creó el gran diseño del chasis. El ‘Taxi de las Dunas’ simboliza la ambición de BMW de desafiar el ‘statu quo'”, concluyeron.
