El Departamento de Estado ha revocado visas y tomado medidas para imponer restricciones de visas a personas en México identificadas por facilitar deliberadamente la inmigración ilegal a Estados Unidos. Esta medida se aplica a ejecutivos y altos funcionarios de una empresa de transporte con sede en México que, a sabiendas, proporcionaban servicios de viaje diseñados principalmente para extranjeros que pretendían inmigrar ilegalmente a Estados Unidos.

Estas medidas se toman al amparo de la Sección 212(a)(3)(C) de la Ley de Inmigración y Nacionalidad (INA), que prohíbe la entrada a quienes, al ingresar o realizar actividades propuestas, podrían tener consecuencias adversas graves para la política exterior estadounidense.

Las investigaciones indican que estas personas organizaron el transporte de extranjeros, incluidos menores, desde el Caribe y otras regiones hasta puntos de tránsito en Centroamérica, donde posteriormente se detectó a muchos intentando ingresar ilegalmente a Estados Unidos. El Departamento está revocando visas y tomando medidas para imponer restricciones de visas para impedir que estas personas ingresen a nuestro país.

Estados Unidos no tolerará ningún intento de socavar nuestra seguridad nacional ni las leyes de inmigración. El Departamento se asegurará de que quienes se benefician de la inmigración ilegal enfrenten consecuencias, y lucharemos agresivamente contra las redes de contrabando para proteger nuestras fronteras.
