Su paso por el Banco Central
Uno de los primeros trabajos de Milei fue una pasantía en el Banco Central de la República Argentina, entre diciembre de 1992 y junio de 1993. Su permanencia no continuó posteriormente.

Su relación laboral más importante fue probablemente con Eduardo Eurnekian y Corporación América, donde trabajó durante aproximadamente 15 años.

En 2025, ya siendo presidente, Milei volvió a Corporación América para inaugurar un nuevo edificio y habló extensamente sobre su antiguo trabajo. Contó que tuvo solamente dos discusiones fuertes con uno de sus superiores durante todos los años que trabajaron directamente juntos.

Intenso: no parece haber sido una persona que aceptara fácilmente una orden simplemente porque viniera de un superior.
Discutidor: su propio relato sobre Corporación América confirma que tendía a desarrollar discusiones extensas sobre cuestiones económicas.
Poco diplomático: la personalidad explosiva que posteriormente vimos en televisión aparentemente ya existía en su vida profesional.
Capaz de adaptarse: cuando su jefe le señaló que sus exposiciones eran demasiado largas, aprendió a resumirlas en puntos concretos.
Profesionalmente persistente: permaneció muchos años trabajando en empresas privadas importantes, particularmente en Corporación América.
Y hay una paradoja interesante: el Milei que hoy conocemos como político anti-“casta” pasó buena parte de su vida profesional trabajando para bancos, consultoras, fondos de jubilación y grandes empresas privadas. Antes de entrar formalmente en política, su trayectoria fue fundamentalmente la de un economista y consultor del sector privado.
En definitiva, no parece correcto describirlo simplemente como un mal empleado. Hay evidencia de conflictos y de un carácter difícil, particularmente en sus primeros trabajos, pero también tuvo una carrera profesional prolongada y llegó a ocupar posiciones de responsabilidad económica.
