Instalan un altar satánico navideño en el Capitolio de Iowa

Activistas de la organización Templo Satánico montaron el miércoles pasado una exhibición pública dentro del edificio del Capitolio del estado de Iowa. En el altar está representada una cabeza de cabra elaborada con espejos sostenida por un maniquí vestido de rojo, entre otros símbolos de la organización.

El cofundador y portavoz del grupo, Lucien Greaves, señaló que la exhibición representa el derecho del grupo a la libertad religiosa. “Realmente vamos a disfrutar la oportunidad de estar representados en un foro público. No tenemos una iglesia en cada esquina”, subrayó Greaves. Según el portavoz, la exhibición permanecerá durante 14 días. “Mi sensación es que, si a la gente no le gusta nuestra exhibición en foros públicos, no tienen que interactuar con ella. No tienen que verla”, añadió.

Por su parte Shellie Flockhart, residente en Iowa, quien convocó un grupo de oración frente al árbol de Navidad, ubicado dentro del mismo edificio de la Cámara de Representantes, manifestó su sorpresa al ver la exhibición. “Es una fuerza muy oscura y maligna, y realmente espero que la gente sepa cómo combatirla”, puntualizó. “Espero que la gente se dé cuenta de que la guerra espiritual es real. Que hay fuerzas satánicas malignas que están tratando de infiltrarse en nuestro estado”, agregó Flockhart.

El Templo Satánico se define como una organización no gubernamental reconocida a nivel federal dedicada al activismo político y cultural. Su sede está ubicada en Salem, Massachusetts. El grupo se reconoce como no teísta, por lo que señala que no adora a Satanás ni cree en la existencia del diablo. Explican que utilizan símbolos satánicos como una forma de transmitir su mensaje.

    its not something I like. However, if one supports freedom of religion and freedom of speech this is something that goes along with that!
    These folks have just as much right to have their display as any Christian, Jew, muslim, Buddhist, etc.
