The problem with DeSantis’ argument is not that he’s removing Disney’s special tax and making the amusement-parks industry more competitive, it’s the protected speech from Disney executives that initiated a punitive governmental response.
At this point, the state is struggling with its plan to take over Reedy Creek and run the local government. Disney correctly used contractual terms and legal loopholes to remain in charge of their theme park. I don’t see how they’re considering this a win for DeSantis. Disney and their lawyers, clearly won this latest round.
One would think the Big Business Owners, who comprise the GOP Donor Base, would have substantial misgivings about a Governor who openly abuses the power of his office to persecute private companies in a personal vendetta….
