Acá tuvimos el FAA (Fusil de Asalto Argentino) que fue dejado de fabricar por presiones externas y los superaba a estos; como lo fue la pistola cal. 9 mm que el SAS británico compró como arma de puño de sus fuerzas, pero, como todo, después compramos las ASTRA españolas, teniendo muy buenas fábricas de armamento que el “traidor” Menem desarticulo y remato.

M16 has better velocity and accuracy at range, its hard for someone with can Ak to put 10 rounds accurately down range, dont get offended, its just the truth

The M16 is only relevant today for 3 reasons.
1st and the main reason???( Marketing!!!) Nobody does that better than Americans.

Besides what we use today is the end result of a 40 year evolution of a crappy rifle into a decent rifle.

The AK is like a cement mixer. It’s rough, crudely made, but very dependable. The M-16 is a prom queen, it’s beautiful, well made, precise, but doesn’t like to like to play in the dirt and is high maintenance.
There is not competition so if you are in shooting range some where in Us then M16 but if you are in 3rd world country with lot of mud and rain Ak 47 is rife you wonna have by your side, ask Us Vet in beginnig of Viet War why they choose old M1 Garand or M5 over M16 it was not raiable in harsh condtions sorry for bad English, i served in Croatia army during Yug war in 1990 we had bunch of Ak -47 from Svoviet Yug Chin Rum production and also some M16 believe me we all choose A-47, Zastava m70 was best version Ak-47 ironic is thatbis manufactured in Kragujevac Serbia better even orginal Russian version.
Служа в армии у меня был АК-74, 81года выпуска, и поверьте мне на слова не однократно случились у меня и осечки, и задержки , сталкивался с АК со всеми проблемами что можно только встречать с огнестрельным оружием. Стоило автомату чуть чуть быть в пыли, затем дождик и все возвратный механизм уже не дослал затворную группу в переднее положение. Вот такая вот супер надежность у АК.
Про М16 ничего сказать не могу,
Даже с близкого расстояния не видел эту винтовку, но думаю что не плохой аппарат, последные модификации будут еще лучше, думаю.
My dad was a Vietnam veteran, he hated the m16 loved the m14 and the ak47 for practical reasons. The simplicity of the Iraqi war had no obstruction to contend with as a soldier would in any other enviroment. He told me that an m16 round could be deflected easily in the jungle and was not that effective in combat. They tend to jam , needed to be kept clean, and all around a poor design. In a dessert operation with no obstruction to deal with they do have a slight advantage in range. In forests, jungles, or urban settings their effectiveness is not as good as an ak47.

I have friend in vietnam whose his old man (already passed away now) has been involved in Vietnam against US Soldiers in many fields. When i visited him few years ago in business trip, he told stories that so many M16 stuck in the jungle. Yes, it have accuracy, light weight but stuck in the jungle, with swamp’s mud anywhere, raining country. He already tried M16 him instead his weapon AK47 self, but don’t like due this problem. He said, need special lubricant that cannot be found in Nam, might be only US soldier had. Totally different with AK47 that can be maintained with cheap.
Not reliable at that war. Might be can be more functional in city war, open field but useless in jungle like vietnam environment at that time. He also testimony that many US soldier pick up AK47s from his dead’s friends and use it against us (vietnamese) for better fight.
I don’t know the true is, but it was a testimony from witness who involved in Vietnam War.
But for sure, i have believe that AK47 might be obsolete compare to newer one. The most advance for AK47 is cheap, easy to carry, easy to maintain. Remember, it was designed in 1947, M16 designed in 1960s.
Some facts 4 u:
1: the AK is not cheap. It’s an expensive rifle. It’s cheap when produced in a factory the size of a small city.
2: non of the rifles you showed were the guns you talked about. You had an RPK, AKS, and AKM… but no AK-47
3: the M16 sucked. The M16A1 is the gun that replaced it a few years later.
4: the M16 is NOT easy to disassemble. It’s complex with a bunch of little parts.
5: the AK didn’t break much. It’s a solid rifle and held it’s ground quite well.
6: the M16 has greater penetration then the AK. The AK has greater stopping power. But the 5.56x45mm has a lot higher muzzle velocity. And soldiers complain that it takes 2 or 3 shots to drop a person because it just zips right through them
Hit dispersion and accuracy has nothing to do with the gun. It’s the shooter. The testers for your data are just shit shots
