El automóvil más pequeño del mundo con una puerta, un faro y marcha atrás manual.

Fabricado originalmente entre 1962 y 1964 en la Isla de Man, el Peel P50 solo tiene una puerta, un faro y no tiene marcha atrás; solo una manija en la parte trasera que permite maniobrar físicamente el automóvil liviano cuando sea necesario.

Originalmente cotizado en £ 198 (225 Dólares en esa época) y logrando 100 millas por galón, se proclamó en broma que era “más barato que caminar”.

El Peel P50 fue una creación del inventor en serie y propietario de Peel Engineering Company, Cyril Cannell. Imaginó un automóvil para pasajeros ultracompacto y excepcionalmente pequeño capaz de viajar a 40 mph con un adulto sentado que lleva un maletín.

¿El motor? Un modesto 40 cc que se puede encontrar en un ciclomotor.

La producción cesó en 1964 y solo se produjeron cincuenta Peel P50. De estos originales, solo se sabe que todavía existen veintisiete, lo que convierte al Peel P50 en uno de los automóviles más raros del mundo.
