El tema de las células madre provoca muchas discusiones tanto en los círculos académicos como entre la población no científica. Sin embargo, las investigaciones sobre células madre demuestran la necesidad de su introducción en la medicina y la creación de tratamientos para muchas enfermedades (Bianco et al., 2014). A pesar de numerosas investigaciones y artículos, la gente comparte algunos conceptos erróneos que les hacen oponerse a este descubrimiento.

Uno de los conceptos erróneos más comunes es que la investigación con células madre viola los principios éticos, ya que utiliza células madre embrionarias o el llamado feto. Sin embargo, muchas instituciones utilizan células madre adultas. Las investigaciones que involucran células madre embrionarias siguen siendo legales. Utilizan los embriones que quedan después de las fertilizaciones in vitro o los donados (“Mitos y conceptos erróneos de la investigación con células madre”, 2017). Estos embriones a menudo tienen deficiencias genéticas y habrían sido destruidos a menos que se usaran para investigación. Además, la investigación a menudo es financiada por el gobierno. Este hecho desaprueba el supuesto carácter ilegal de la investigación con células madre.

Otro concepto erróneo es vincular la investigación con células madre con la clonación. Sin embargo, cabe señalar que la investigación con células madre no permite ninguna reproducción. Algunos otros conceptos erróneos están relacionados con el efecto que tiene la terapia con células madre. Mucha gente cree que su eficacia no está comprobada. Sin embargo, no es cierto. La eficacia de la terapia con células madre ha sido corroborada por muchas investigaciones y, por lo tanto, puede aplicarse en diversas esferas de la atención médica.

    I think more seachs and studies on the totipotent stem cells will reveal more secretes of these primitive cells and taking concider on tn the genetic studies on these stem cells which direct and program the cells properties and activitie
