La concejala de la ciudad de Tuscaloosa, Sonya McKinstry, dijo que los estudiantes han estado organizando “fiestas COVID” como un juego para contagiarse intencionalmente con el virus que ha matado a más de 127,000 personas en los Estados Unidos.
La funcionaria dijo que recientemente se enteró del comportamiento e informó al ayuntamiento de las fiestas que ocurrían en la ciudad.
MacKinstry dijo que los organizadores de las fiestas están invitando deliberadamente a personas que tienen COVID-19.
“Ponen dinero en una copa e intentan obtener COVID. Quien obtenga COVID primero recibe el monto de la copa. No tiene sentido”, dijo McKinstry. “Lo están haciendo intencionalmente”.
El jefe de bomberos de Tuscaloosa, Randy Smith, dijo al Ayuntamiento el martes que confirmó el comportamiento descuidado de los estudiantes.

Totalmente demencial y estúpido. Habría que identificar a los asistentes y excluirlos de los sistemas de salud en caso de enfermarse con el coronavirus. Que todos los gastos corran a sus costas. Atentamente CLAUDIO KUSSMAN
As an RN this is a smack in the face to all of us who have and are taking care of Covid patients. To those of us who have seen patients die before our eyes. Patients who we actually cared for and cheered them on for their recovery. When I first read about this on another news site I said “I’m done”. Done being a nurse until Covid is taken care of by a vaccine. I refuse to take care of immature, selfish and self-entitled people like this. I’m sure I’m not the only RN who will feel this way after reading the news article as well. Then where will the whole health system be without the nurses? Oh, you will always have some who need the paycheck and will stay; but you have to have intelligence to get through nursing school and I’m sure others just like me will find a way to make a living without nursing. Just something to think about when your planning another “party”!

Intentionally spreading a deadly virus should be considered a criminal offense.
