Sir Nicholas George Winton fue un corredor de bolsa y humanitario británico que ayudó a rescatar a niños judíos que corrían riesgo de ser asesinados por la Alemania nazi durante el Holocausto.
Nació el 19 de mayo de 1909 en Londres, Reino Unido y falleció el 1 de julio de 2015 (106 años) en Slough, Reino Unido.
Incluso después de que su anonimato terminó en 1988, cuando el descubrimiento por parte de su esposa de un viejo álbum de recortes en su ático desató una ola de reconocimiento público, nunca explicó completamente por qué lo hizo.
Una aparición especialmente conmovedora se produjo en la televisión en 1988, “Así es la vida”, cuando por primera vez, decenas de personas que le debían la vida se reunieron para agradecerle. En el video, se seca las lágrimas mientras una mujer lo abraza. Luego se sorprende al saber que las decenas de personas sentadas a su alrededor también eran niños que había salvado.
“Supongo que fue el momento más emotivo de mi vida”, dijo Winton en un programa de televisión en 2014, a los 104 años. “De repente, enfrentarme a todos estos niños, que de ninguna manera ya no eran niños”.
En ese programa, le preguntaron a Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, una de los niños que había salvado, por qué pensaba que él había permanecido en silencio durante tanto tiempo sobre lo que había hecho.
Aparte del dinero, si fueras más rico al recibir bendiciones de almas inocentes desconocidas, no atribuirte el crédito, olvidar lo que hiciste, no tocar la trompeta, vivir una vida saludable durante más de 100 años, te hace más rico, bendecido y un humano.
“No fui heroico porque nunca estuve en peligro. Algunas personas disfrutan tomando riesgos, y otras van por la vida sin correr ningún riesgo. Conozco multitudes de personas que van a la iglesia y a la sinagoga y que no son religiosas. desde muy joven estuve en la Ambulancia de St. John o en la Cruz Roja; últimamente he trabajado como voluntario con discapacitados mentales y en el asilo de ancianos de Abbeyfield. Todo el mundo piensa que mi historia debería estar marcada por el heroísmo, pero hay… No había ningún riesgo para mí. Verás, nadie en Praga en ese momento pensó que iba a estar en guerra con Inglaterra”.

Something like this can never happen where I live. It is interesting to see how far behind in religious discourse and inter-religuous dialogue we are when compared to the societies where these movements happen. Where I live, no one has understood what communism really means (even the communists), no one understands real secularism, no one realises the boundary between faith and society, no one understands equal treatment of all people irrespective of faith (they instead try to practise equal treatment of all faiths). The infusion of Islam and Hinduism into each other and sharp boundaries in other facets of life complicate things to an extent where it is impossible to figure out where we stand as a society when it comes to religiosity.

This is my take, while I completely support their efforts, I cannot join them as I am not going to lie about my non-belief in any deities just to make a point. I am Anti theistic, and it just goes against my own personal beliefs. I do support them though in everything they do.

2000 year’s and an estimated 34,000 distinct religions worldwide. What’s one more?
Everyone has their own opinion on things, and I think that everybody has the right to believe what they want to believe, if they were to become Pastafarian, then that is their opinion. People can believe in Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, anything! So, if you don’t like what other people think, then just deal with it. Don’t be racist. I have been being mean and all that and I apologize. Everyone has their own opinion, and nobody is exactly the same, so at least try to get along with them, and learn that everyone isn’t perfect.

This religion is great and in serveral ways even better then most religions out there, why? Well first their god and believe system is the same as all other religions, believing in a creature that shaped the universe that never has been proven to nog exist. One thing that makes them better then most other religions is the 8 I really rather you didn’ts saying you should spend your money on good deeds and not the religion you are supporting. This religion is just perfect in every way possible, with not only it’s humor but also what it tries to accomplish

Everyone has their own opinion on things, and I think that everybody has the right to believe what they want to believe, if they were to become Pastafarian, then that is their opinion.
