From what I’ve read about this this guy’s main propositions are to massively cut all government spending and to switch to the dollar as currency. Switching to the dollar might actually be a somewhat effective shock treatment to reset the economy but it has to be paired with massive economic and financial reforms otherwise they’ll just end up right back to where they were. Argentina seems to have a problem of excessive lending from banks to try to attenuate the cost of living which only creates more hyperinflation. If they don’t change those issues and switch to the dollar they can end up in the same problem but with a more vulnerable economy and no real way to get out of it since they will have given up monetary control. Also from what I’ve read the spending problem in Argentina comes from the fact that regions are very autonomous and control their own spending, so no matter how much the central government tries to cut spending they can’t really do anything about it. Also I’m not sure this guys will have the most responsible attitude towards spending cuts since he is an anarcho-capitalist with no experience and no party structure so far. I don’t know that much about the situation in Argentina and most of this is based on a short research I did after hearing about the election, but it seems like this guy could take things from bad to worse and put Argentina in a place it actually can’t recover from regardless of future reforms, but I do definitely understand why people are desperate for a change in policy with the current mismanagement of the economy. I just have to wonder if there wasn’t a more sensible political alternative than this.

You’re lucky and “middle class” if you make around 500-1000 dollars a month here. Milei always spoke out against this, and that’s why he gained supporters, not because of his far out crazier ideas. It’s due to the failures of the left that the right is gaining traction, if not Milei would be dead on arrival.
The sad thing is that mainstream politicians have become too complacent and corrupt. Nobody’s actually trying to help regular people these days aside from a minority that big business has portrayed as fringe. These populists sound different and they behave different, but they only seek to enrich themselves and their backers. Successfully pushing real solutions and change is very difficult now because of the money standing in the way. I wish the political system plaguing much of the democratic world would change, but apathy has made these populist con-men far too successful.

Lo que me pareceria genial —y muy juso— es que empiecen a cobrar menos y digan cuanto cobran. Así todos seríamos tocados por la misma crisis. En cuanto la política obtenga beneficios más allá de la población todo va a seguir siendo nefasto.

Argentina has been having a lot of problems recently, but just remember: No matter how bad things are, you can always make them much worse. LOL
From what I’ve read about this this guy’s main propositions are to massively cut all government spending and to switch to the dollar as currency.
Switching to the dollar might actually be a somewhat effective shock treatment to reset the economy but it has to be paired with massive economic and financial reforms otherwise they’ll just end up right back to where they were. Argentina seems to have a problem of excessive lending from banks to try to attenuate the cost of living which only creates more hyperinflation. If they don’t change those issues and switch to the dollar they can end up in the same problem but with a more vulnerable economy and no real way to get out of it since they will have given up monetary control.
Also from what I’ve read the spending problem in Argentina comes from the fact that regions are very autonomous and control their own spending, so no matter how much the central government tries to cut spending they can’t really do anything about it. Also I’m not sure this guys will have the most responsible attitude towards spending cuts since he is an anarcho-capitalist with no experience and no party structure so far.
I don’t know that much about the situation in Argentina and most of this is based on a short research I did after hearing about the election, but it seems like this guy could take things from bad to worse and put Argentina in a place it actually can’t recover from regardless of future reforms, but I do definitely understand why people are desperate for a change in policy with the current mismanagement of the economy. I just have to wonder if there wasn’t a more sensible political alternative than this.

To all the people commenting here from the comfort of the first world, just consider we have a current government that denies that printing money and a fiscal deficit causes inflation, and it’s projected to up to around 130% yearly. You’re lucky and “middle class” if you make around 500-1000 dollars a month here. Milei always spoke out against this, and that’s why he gained supporters, not because of his far out crazier ideas. It’s due to the failures of the left that the right is gaining traction, if not Milei would be dead on arrival.
The sad thing is that mainstream politicians have become too complacent and corrupt. Nobody’s actually trying to help regular people these days aside from a minority that big business has portrayed as fringe. These populists sound different and they behave different, but they only seek to enrich themselves and their backers. Successfully pushing real solutions and change is very difficult now because of the money standing in the way. I wish the political system plaguing much of the democratic world would change, but apathy has made these populist con-men far too successful.

This is a VERY positive development for the world. Anytime a communist government is taken down and replaced with capitalism, it’s a victory for the people of that country. Rapid economic development can follow if they manage the transition to the dollar effectively.

Als die Artikel Hunderte oder sogar Tausende Pesos kosteten, klingt 1 USD unglaublich billig, entspricht aber nicht dem aktuellen Wert des Pesos. Ich hoffe, dass es ihre Wirtschaft stabilisiert, erwarte aber nicht, dass es die Inflationsprobleme über Nacht lindert.

Argentina, antes de su mala gestión e hiperinflación, era un país productor de petróleo de altos ingresos con un peso estable. Su hipergobierno de tipo socialista fracasó en todos los sentidos imaginables.
I lived and worked in Mar de Plata for eleven years, and witnessed what the last three presidents have done to a country that was the jewel of South America. There is more poverty, more people depending on government for assistance, in health care, food assistance programs, so Argentina needs to go back to it’s glory days

Todo condimentado numerosos feriados de 4 días a lo largo del año y que se puede vivir de fiesta. Estamos transitando las últimas y angustiantes horas de un cambio de gobierno, que marcará, sin atenuantes, un nuevo renacer o el colapso definitivo del país.
