El actor Matthew McConaughey confirmó ayer viernes que está considerando seriamente postularse para gobernador de Texas en 2022, pero reconoció que aún no había decidido si sería “más útil” en un cargo público.

Es algo grandioso y honorable poder considerarlo “, dijo McConaughey. “Lo que tengo que elegir por mí mismo es que quiero asumir un papel de liderazgo en el próximo capítulo de mi vida. Just what we need, another actor to lead us. Actors are nothing without directors and a good story so how will that work out for Texas? One more thing, does anybody really know who he really is? I know who the actor Matthew McConaughey is but who is the person behind the acting? Why not start in a smaller capacity like a city counsel or a state senator or representative? Does he deserve to jump to the top? Look what happened to Trump.
Reagan pretty much did the exact same thing when he was elected governor of California in the 60s. That was his first political office. The same applies to Schwarzennegger. So, it’s not an unprecedented thing in American politics. I have an open mind and don’t judge a person on their prior career when it comes to fitness for political office. It’s more about their temperament, charisma, and viewpoints than their resume. Trump failed the temperament test big time before he got elected in 2016. That’s what bothers me. You can see the disaster of his election plain as day and yet people still blindly vote for that person.
