SpaceX de Elon Musk “tiene una tremenda ventaja sobre Blue Origin” de Jeff Bezos en el campo de la exploración espacial que están desarrollando las compañías privadas, afirmó el físico teórico estadounidense Michio Kaku.

El reconocido científico se refirió al nuevo vuelo turístico hacia el borde del espacio realizado por Blue Origin el mismo día, y comparó la oferta de la empresa de Bezos con la de Musk. “No es cara a cara como a los medios les gustaría retratar, es decir, la batalla de los multimillonarios”, señaló el experto.

Centrándose en SpaceX, Kaku mencionó las misiones de sus naves a la Estación Espacial Internacional: “De hecho, el último vuelo que realizaron fue más allá del telescopio espacial Hubble, es cuán lejos han logrado ir al espacio”. Además, el científico destacó que “Elon Musk está vendiendo pasajes para ir a la Luna, y un multimillonario japonés ha comprado todos para el primer vuelo”.

Mientras, en su segundo vuelo comercial, la nave de Blue Origin con cuatro turistas a bordo pasó el miércoles la línea de Kármán, límite del espacio reconocido internacionalmente.

“Así que nada de esto, subir durante tres minutos y volver a bajar. No, ahora estamos hablando de la Luna”, comentó Kaku resaltando los logros de Space X sobre su principal competidor.

El mes pasado SpaceX realizó un vuelo espacial histórico por ser la primera misión con una tripulación compuesta totalmente por civiles, dos hombres y dos mujeres. La misión Inspiration 4 pasó tres días orbitando la Tierra a una altura de 585 kilómetros, más alto que la EEI, antes de amarizar el 18 de septiembre en las costas de Florida. Al no haber astronautas profesionales a bordo, todos los procesos fueron automatizados y controlados por técnicos de la compañía desde un centro de mando terrestre.

    Blue Origin is Jeff’s side hobby. He may be a space enthusiast as he’s stated as well, but he’s no Elon. The biggest difference between Jeff and Elon is this: Jeff is a billionaire looking to invest more; Elon is an engineer personally involved in SpaceX to an insane level, and more importantly, he’s a dreamer — I’d put my money on a dreamer on all days of the week and twice on Sunday.
