Un reportero y una niña fueron asesinados a tiros el miércoles por la tarde en el área de la ciudad de Orlando, en el estado de Florida, cerca de la escena de otro tiroteo fatal ocurrido más temprano en la jornada.

El periodista Dylan Lyons fue a cubrir la escena del crimen de una mujer de 20 años junto al equipo del canal local Spectrum News 13. Según las autoridades, el hombre sospechoso de la muerte de la mujer regresó al lugar y abrió fuego contra el móvil de noticias. 

Posteriormente, habría entrado a una vivienda cercana y disparó a una niña y a su madre. Como resultado, la pequeña de nueve años falleció.

Asimismo, un miembro del equipo de televisión y la madre de la menor resultaron heridos y actualmente se encuentran hospitalizados en estado grave.

El alguacil del condado de Orange, John Mina, informó durante una conferencia de prensa que se detuvo a Keith Melvin Moses, de 19 años, quien se cree que es responsable de ambos tiroteos. “Quiero reconocer el horrible día que ha sido para nuestra comunidad y nuestros colegas de los medios”, expresó. 

Las autoridades están investigando el caso y hasta el momento no encontraron un motivo inmediato para ninguna de las balaceras. “El sospechoso no dice mucho en este momento”, agregó el alguacil. No obstante, detalló que el detenido era un conocido de la primera víctima y que no tenía conexión con los periodistas o la niña y su madre.

El historial criminal de Moses incluye cargos de armas, así como agresión agravada, asalto con un arma mortal, robo y delitos de hurto mayor.

    The justice system gave him quite a few breaks based on his color. Those cops were very abusive. Come on he only shot and killed a 9 yr old.

    Locals call it Crime Hills not Pine Hills. That area is notoriously unsafe. A friend of mine works for the local utility company and they will not send a person solo for any service orders in the area. Once a group of Linemen where working and a guy just walking by snatched a $800 battery powered hydraulic press tool off the back of the bucket truck and took off.

    The problem is that the courts are not doing their jobs and putting these thugs away ,keep letting them out to commit more crimes’i wish i was the judge in this case.he would get to know the term the bench thrown at him real quick,this is why we have the death penalty in this country for trash like this

    Yeah, the TV shows him screaming like a baby. Such a tough guy with a gun but crying and whimpering like an infant without it. That scream will go over very well in Florida prison. At only 19 he’ll have so many years to scream and whimper behind bars. On top of the fact that killing a child and innocent people will put him at the top of the list of additional pain and suffering inflicted by the hierarchy of the prisoners. RIP innocent victims. Prayers and peace to your families
