El predicador evangelista estadounidense Jesse Duplantis ha generado controversia al asegurar que Jesús todavía no ha regresado a la Tierra porque los creyentes han donado poco dinero a su iglesia.
La semana pasada, durante un evento religioso para recaudar fondos, Duplantis interpretó a su manera un pasaje de la Biblia afirmando que solo las donaciones de los fieles pueden acelerar el día de la llegada de Cristo, al tiempo que se jactaba de su fortuna.

Esas palabras provocaron fuertes críticas en las redes sociales, donde algunos internautas calificaron al predicador de “falso profeta”. Duplantis “sabe que Jesús no regresará, pero sabe cómo aprovecharse de la desesperación de la gente”, comentó un usuario de Twitter. “A Jesús no le importa el dinero […] tengan cuidado con esta falsa doctrina” del pastor, alertó otro.
Duplantis, quien dirige el Ministerio Jesse Duplantis, fue noticia a principios de septiembre, cuando fue criticado por no hacer lo suficiente para ayudar a la población de la parroquia donde se encuentra su iglesia, en el estado de Luisiana, afectada por el huracán Ida.
En 2018, el predicador ya causó polémica al pedir a sus feligreses 54 millones de dólares para comprarse su cuarto avión privado. En ese entonces, Duplantis lo justificó afirmando que Dios le había dicho que debía tener una nueva aeronave, pero no pagarla.

Ahora entiendo, no vino antes porque los pasajes estan caros y necesita ayuda económica. Que este buen pastor, lo anote en la IFE o alguna de las otras asistencias que tenemos a todo nivel y no tendremos que aportar directamente.
