La producción de petróleo y de gas en Brasil alcanzó el pasado mes de julio su nivel más alto jamás registrado, superando el récord anterior de junio, según datos publicados esta semana por en el boletín mensual de la Agencia Nacional de Petróleo, Gas Natural y Biocombustibles (ANP), del Ministerio de Minas y Energías de Brasil.
Según estas cifras, la producción durante el mes de julio alcanzó los 4,48 millones de barriles equivalentes de petróleo o BEP (unidad de energía que corresponde a la energía liberada durante la quema de un barril de crudo) al día. En cuanto a la producción de crudo, se alcanzaron 3,51 millones de barriles diarios, lo que significa un aumento del 4,3 % respecto al mes anterior y de un 18,6 % en el último año. Mientras, la producción de gas natural aumentó en un 1,2 % respecto al mes de junio y un 13,6 % anual, con una producción de 154,08 millones de metros cúbicos diarios.
El 74,9 % de la producción total en julio, tanto de petróleo como de gas natural, se extrajo de las regiones del presal. La petrolera estatal Petrobras tiene previsto aumentar sus inversiones para 2023-2027 en torno a un 15 %, es decir, cerca de 78.000 millones de dólares, de los que el 67 % se destinará a la regiones presalinas.
Según las predicciones del grupo de investigación y consultoría Wood Mackenzie, las petroleras privadas en Brasil aumentarán la producción de crudo hasta en un 75 %, pasando de 1,221 millones de barriles al día a 2,123 millones de barriles diarios en 2030.
El mismo grupo sostiene que grandes petroleras como Shell, Equinor, TotalEnergies, Repdol Sinopec Brasil S.A. y Petrogal figuraran entre los principales productores gracias a su asociación con Petrobras en los yacimientos presalinos y otros campos en desarrollo.
