La Administración de Seguridad en el Transporte estadounidense (TSA, por sus siglas en inglés) ha comunicado que, en 2022, EE.UU. batió el récord de armas incautadas en los controles aeroportuarios, registrando 6.542 unidades, unas 18 por día.
“Lo que vemos en nuestros puestos de contro refleja realmente lo que vemos en la sociedad”, dijo David Pekoske, administrador de la TSA, alegando que actualmente hay más gente portando armas. Comunicó, además, que las armas fueron confiscadas en diversos estados, desde California hasta Maine, pero principalmente, en los aeropuertos más grandes de las zonas donde hay leyes más permisivas al respecto.
