Rusia y Estados Unidos se encuentran enfrentados de manera activa en una guerra, declaró este miércoles el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Rusia, Sergéi Lavrov.
“Nos encontramos, en efecto, en la fase activa de guerra, puesto que los nazis ucranianos luchan principalmente con armas estadounidenses. Y Washington amenaza con entregar sistemas cada vez más letales y de mayor alcance”, manifestó Lavrov al periodista Pável Zarubin tras recibir en el Kremlin la visita de la nueva embajadora de EE.UU. en Moscú, Lynne Tracy.
Sin embargo, el máximo diplomático ruso subrayó la importancia de mantener las relaciones bilaterales con Washington: “Aún no perdemos la esperanza de que los estadounidenses recuperen el sentido común y reanuden el diálogo de alguna manera. Ya veremos, no será una la
rga espera”.
Del mismo modo, el presidente de Rusia, Vladímir Putin, se refirió a las tensiones existentes entre su país y EE.UU., y reiteró que es la política exterior de Washington lo que ha llevado al conflicto actual en Ucrania.
“Las relaciones entre la Federación de Rusia y Estados Unidos, de las que dependen directamente la seguridad y la estabilidad mundiales, atraviesan, desgraciadamente, una profunda crisis”, declaró Putin durante una ceremonia de entrega de cartas credenciales a embajadores extranjeros.
“Se basa en enfoques fundamentalmente diferentes para configurar el orden mundial moderno”, precisó el líder ruso mientras se dirigía a Tracy.

The Achilles heel for both Russia and China, is always going to be military readiness of everything from the soldiers themselves, to logistical support, equipment, etc. You can have the same tech as the US, more soldiers, etc. But as we are witnessing in Ukraine, if you do not have real life experience executing large military operations, everything falls apart. The US military has been engaged in nearly constant global conflict since WW2.
The American reserve force has improved exponentially since the GWOT started. I joined in 2003 and within 5 years it was night and day difference. The units were much younger and all the medically non deployable had been phased out. The training became more structured and intense. I guess when you launch a 20 year war you’re going to have to rely heavily on reserve troops. I deployed 3 times to combat in 12 years and I have friends that did 4 combat tours in that time. I would wager we now have the best trained reserve force in the developed world.
