El presidente de Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, ha comunicado este sábado que había firmado un acuerdo para el retorno del servicio militar obligatorio en su país, informan medios locales.
“Como comandante en jefe, firmé mi consentimiento para realizar el servicio militar obligatorio durante 75 días. Espero que el Gobierno lo adopte. Creo que todos saben lo mucho que necesitamos un Ejército fuerte. No atacaremos a nadie, pero debemos disuadir a quienes nos amenazan cada día”, afirmó.
El primer ministro del país, Milos Vucevic que Serbia “no se prepara para la guerra”, sino que quiere “preservar la paz”. “Cuanto más fuerte sea nuestro Ejército, más segura será nuestra paz”, afirmó.
Vucevic explicó que antes el servicio militar obligatorio duraba 12 meses, luego nueve y ahora es de solo 75 días. “Ahora pasamos a dos meses y medio, un plazo que no perturbará su vida”, señaló.
Se prevé que la iniciativa se realice a mediados del año que viene. “Todos los ministerios recibieron tareas específicas para poner en práctica todo lo que el presidente presentó”, aseguró el primer ministro serbio.
