Está confirmado que próximamente se lanzará la película ‘Triplets’ con Danny DeVito y Arnold Shwarzenegger, la cual se retrasó tras la muerte del Director de ‘Twins’, Ivan Reitman, en febrero de 2022. La película abordará la reacción de ambos luego de que descubrieran que no eran dos, sino tres hermanos.
Entre los detalles conocidos, se sabe que Eddie Murphy y Tracy Morgan se unirán al elenco de la secuela, que espera su lanzamiento proximamente. El pasado mes de mayo, Schwarzenegger aseguró que el proyecto ya no estaba en marcha por el momento, esto debido a la muerte del ‘padre’ del proyecto.
Cabe destacar que la terna volvió a trabajar en la película ‘Junior’, donde si bien no retomaron sus papeles vistos en ‘Gemelos’, Arnold Schwarzenegger y Danny DeVito pudieron trabajar de nueva cuenta con Ivan Reitman.
Danny DeVito, declaró en una entrevista “Arnold y yo queríamos trabajar juntos. No hicimos ‘Los gemelos golpean dos veces 2’ porque se hizo gobernador. Debería haber hecho ‘Los gemelos golpean dos veces 2’ en vez de hacerse gobernador”.
Sin embargo, eso no significa que la colaboración entre ambos haya llegado a su final: “Tenemos una pequeña cosa entre manos, un pequeño proyecto sobre el que hemos estado hablando. Solo son dos amigos, dos tíos, porque pasamos un buen rato juntos. Nos complementamos de un montón de formas. Yo soy mucho más fuerte que él, por ejemplo”.
Well, “Twins” when you respect the premise the movie works well. Julius and Vincent are products of eugenics and Vincent has been written off as a failure simply out of convenience. Then they act as though his behavior in a literal orphanage proves their point. But for the first time he’s faced with his brother who despite being in so many ways superior to him also lacks so many things he has. They complete each other and more importantly, Julius loves Vincent and sees him absolutely as an equal. That’s a love Vincent has never felt. No need for manipulation or for gifts or for pressure. Julius just automatically wants to help Vincent with whatever he’s struggling with because he’s family. As a result the movie became a total dismantling of eugenist logic and shows natural familial love winning out over genetic manipulation
The Twins film was Schwarzenegger’sfirst major comedy. Before taking this role, he acted in action movies and was doing quite well. The studio felt investing in him was a significant risk.
