El presidente de China, Xi Jinping, pronunció un discurso en el marco del foro empresarial del grupo BRICS, que tiene lugar este martes en la ciudad sudafricana de Johannesburgo.
El mandatario subrayó que Pekín persigue firmemente una política exterior independiente de paz y está comprometido a promover la construcción de una comunidad de destino humano.
“Como país en desarrollo y miembro del ‘Sur Global’, China siempre ha compartido el mismo destino con otros países en desarrollo, ha defendido firmemente los intereses comunes de los países en desarrollo y ha presionado para aumentar la representación y la voz de los países con mercados emergentes”, destacó.
Según Xi, China no tiene el gen de la hegemonía ni el afán de jugar a las grandes potencias, sino que “se mantiene firmemente en el lado correcto de la historia y persigue con firmeza el principio del ‘viaje del gran camino, el mundo es un bien público'”.
De igual forma, el mandatario chino subrayó que el ascenso en grupo de los países con mercados emergentes y los países en desarrollo, representados por los BRICS, está cambiando el mapa mundial. “Por mucha resistencia que haya, los países BRICS, una fuerza positiva, estable y de buen aspecto, florecerán”, señaló.
“Más de 20 países están llamando a la puerta de los BRICS, y China les da sinceramente la bienvenida a todos ellos para que se unan a este mecanismo de cooperación”, resaltó.
La 15.ª cumbre de los BRICS se celebra del 22 al 24 de agosto en Sudáfrica.
