Canadá explora la posibilidad de ampliar su asociación de defensa con la Unión Europea, en el marco del Libro Blanco de la defensa del bloque presentado este miércoles.

En particular, estudia la posibilidad de comprar cazas y otros equipos militares de Europa, confirmó el interlocutor de la agencia. En medio del agravamiento de las tensiones con Estados Unidos, el nuevo primer ministro canadiense, Mark Carney, ha instruido al Ministerio de Defensa para que revise la compra de los cazas estadounidenses F-35 y vea si hay otras opciones, “dado el entorno cambiante”.
Ottawa también ha planteado la posibilidad de construir cazas suecos Saab Gripen en territorio canadiense. En ese contexto, la ministra canadiense de Asuntos Exteriores, Mélanie Joly, anunció conversaciones con países europeos sobre armamento.
“Fui a Europa hace un mes para asegurarme de que podíamos formar parte de esa asociación… Está dando buenas noticias”, declaró. “Hay que construir la industria de defensa aquí en casa. Tenemos que trabajar en nuestra propia industria de defensa y tenemos que encontrar diferentes socios en todo el mundo”, añadió.
La UE presentó este miércoles un Libro Blanco que busca impulsar un plan multimillonario de aumento del gasto militar. En cuanto a Canadá, el documento afirma que las relaciones entre el bloque y el país norteamericano “se han intensificado y deben seguir reforzándose, también para fortalecer la seguridad transatlántica”.

The protectorate ended in 1956. Sultan Mohamed V was sent to exile in Madagascar and after a rise up by the Moroccan population the French were forced to allow the king back November 16 1955. This is a great historical account that proves the intrinsic tolerance of Moroccans, populace and elite alike.

Morocco has a rich history, one of the oldest kingdoms in the world beside England & Japan. Honestly one of the most hospitable and tolerant people in the world, in Morocco there is no difference between a Jew, Muslim or Christian or any other faith, it’s truly a magical country rich in culture, you have to visit to see it with your own eyes… Moroccan Jews are so proud to be Moroccan

It is humbling to hear of the Muslims saving Jews. The Vichy regime collaborating with the nazis is important to remember. The Sultan was a wise and Godly man.
