STEVE MCQUEEN “BULLITT”, Y LA MAGIA DEL CINE ¡EXISTEN!
Finalmente el viernes 10 del corriente, en la ciudad de Kissimmee, la tierra de MICKEY MOUSE el FORD MUSTANG GT FASTBACK 1968 que STEVE MCQUEEN “BULLITT”, condujera temerariamente por las calles de San Francisco, hace más de medio siglo, salió a la venta. Se ocupó de ello la prestigiosa firma MECUM AUCTION, la casa más grande del mundo en subastas de automóviles de colección. La presencia de una multitud de fanáticos y posibles compradores, hablaban de la expectativa que generaba el evento. Así el poderoso motor del bólido de acero volvió a rugir y fue música por última vez, en manos de sus propietarios SEAN KIERNAN y su hermana KELLY COTTON, mientras avanzaba lentamente ante la admiración del público que se agolpaba a su alrededor. Miles de teléfonos celulares y también cámaras de filmación registraban la nostálgica escena. SEAN dirigiéndose a los presentes recordó: “Este auto se vendió dos veces en su vida y ha estado en mi familia por 45 años”. Los entendidos habían pronosticado un valor de venta de DOS O MÁS MILLONES DE DÓLARES, y no se equivocaron. I’d have to assume this Mustang had that fixed, perhaps damaging the provenance. Or, it is only one of several Mustangs used in the movie. Those jumps down the San Francisco streets had to have damaged the frame and/or suspension of at least one of those cars.

There were only two GT’s used for the film … one for stunts and one for close-ups. This one was the close-up car.
