Aumenta el precio de las municiones

La propietaria de varias marcas de munición Vista Outdoor declaró que desde el 1 de enero de 2024 aumentará sustancialmente los precios de sus productos debido a “la escasez global prevista de pólvora”. De este modo, el fabricante, con sede en Minnesota (EE.UU.), confirmó al medio la notificación que había enviado a sus clientes a principios de este mes.

En dicha misiva, el vicepresidente de Ventas y de Productos Deportivos, Brett Nelson, explicó que esta alza se produce “debido a los acontecimientos mundiales” y en el contexto de “una demanda sin precedentes y una escasez global prevista de pólvora”, según los proveedores de Vista Outdoor. “Esto ha aumentado nuestros precios sustancialmente”, afirmó el representante de la compañía.

De este modo, las marcas de municiones Remington, Alliant Powder, CCI, Federal, SEVI-Shot, Speer —que, entre otras, son propiedad de Vista Outdoor— el mes que viene sufrirán un aumento de precios en un rango que va del 1 al 10 %.

Si bien Vista Outdoor no detalló en su carta específicamente qué eventos mundiales influyeron en la subida, el medio indica que el conflicto en Ucrania, así como la guerra de Israel contra Hamás han disparado la demanda sustancial de municiones.

En este sentido, se indica también que en marzo de 2022 Vista Outdoor donó a Ucrania municiones por un millón de dólares. “Apoyar el esfuerzo de ayuda es un elemento crucial de la respuesta global y estamos orgullosos de hacer nuestra parte”, anunció entonces Vista Outdoor en un comunicado, y añadió que había ayudado al Ejército de Ucrania y que continuaría haciéndolo.
